Debbie was dissatisfied with the loose skin in her neck and felt that her droopy eyelids made her look tired. She was also unhappy with the results of her previous rhinoplasty, performed by another surgeon. At her initial consultation, we discussed what caused the changes in her skin and outlined a sugical solution that would address her concerns.
To improve her neck and jowls, I recommended tightening the muscle in the front of the neck in order to eliminate the bands below her chin. A face lift would suspend her loose skin and a pre-jowl implant would better define her jawline. Her eyes had a little excess fat and skin that could be corrected by a blepharoplasty. Debbie’s nose had several problems. Her profile was irregular and the cartilages had separated from her septum. Her tip was too bulbous and turned-up. Since she had also had a septoplasty, there was inadequate cartilage in her nose for the reconstruction. Therefore, it was necessary to get some cartilage from one of her ribs through a small incision under her breast.
After surgery, Debbie’s neck has no more bands and her loose skin is redraped without looking pulled. Her jawline is more distinct and her eyes more open and refreshed. The rhinoplasty straightened out her bridge and her tip is more refined. Although her nasal breathing wasn’t her main concern, she was pleasantly surprised that her breathing was much better after surgery.
