After. Note how the eyes are more open yet the brows are not lifted too much. That would make her look surprised, not refreshed.
Brow Lift
In a brow lift, your forehead’s muscles and tissues are repositioned to return the brows to a natural position that complements the eyes, resulting in a more rested and refreshed look. Good brow lift results are subtle. The goal is to open up the area around the eyes, not to look surprised.
A brow lift is usually appropriate after the age of 40, although sometimes it may benefit someone younger. Several techniques are available and you will discuss with Dr. Hamilton those most appropriate for you. For most patients, the incision can be hidden in the hair.
What to Expect After Surgery
Dr. Hamilton frequently sees his patients the day after surgery to answer questions and demonstrate how to care for your sutures. The next visit is approximately one week after surgery. There may be some swelling and bruising for 10 days following surgery. Cold compresses will help relieve minor discomfort. As you recover, you may experience some temporary numbness and itching, both of which will diminish as the healing process continues.
Complementary Surgeries
Frequently, a brow lift is combined with a blepharoplasty (an eyelid tuck) or face lift to provide a balanced appearance. Botox® will help maintain your results.
