About Dr. Hamilton
Before attending the College of Medicine at the University of Illinois, Grant Hamilton earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Industrial Design. “I draw on that experience every day,” Hamilton says. “Facial Plastic Surgery requires a tight integration of both analytical and creative skills. My background in Art & Design is invaluable.”
After completing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Dr. Hamilton spent a year in Chicago in an accredited Fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Upon returning to Iowa, he established UI FACIAL PLASTIC SURGERY.
Dr. Hamilton has written numerous scientific papers and textbook chapters and is regularly invited to speak at national and international conferences. Recently, he was an invited lecturer at the 12th International ASEAN ORL Head and Neck Congress in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. He also spoke at The Latest in Non-Surgical and Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Techniques in Augusta, GA and at the 2008 American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery Fall meeting in Chicago, IL.
Dr. Hamilton is board-certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is also a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Recently, Dr. Hamilton was made Residency Program Director for the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Iowa.

In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Hamilton is a photographer whose work has been published internationally. Limited editions of his work are sold in galleries in Vienna, Berlin, Barcelona and Zurich. He has been interviewed here and there.
